| | Moving your Plants
Beautiful plants are always a part of a beautiful house and your hard work behind its growth attaches you to them from your heart. It is something which most of the time becomes essential to be carried with you (of course, if it is small enough)in case of your shifting or moving to another place.
Considering upon moving plants first involves asking the airline which you are going to travel with. Most of the airlines have specific guidelines on plants carriage. You are also advised to consult the Agricultural department of the state you are relocating to as they also have some regulations on import of pests.
In case of moving your plant in a vehicle especially in a truck, always see to it that plants are sealed in a non breakable container. Transfer the plant into a plastic container if it is in a terra-cotta pot. If possible you can move to local nursery and ask the gardener for black plastic pots. It is good if you happen to find a used one nickel pot. However sterilization of the pot is recommended.
During the whole journey you plant needs moisture. You can ensure the plant's moisture by watering them well and then wrapping their soil tops with a soaked sphagnum moss. Prefer wrapping up the the pot with paper and then with burlap.
To avoid breakage the leaves and stems, it is a very good idea to loosely wrap the foliage in burlap. You can wrap the cuttings in wet moss and then in newspaper. After wrapping up the cuttings, place it in a bag. Bag could be placed in a box made of cardboard. Use some light packing material.
In case you have not got a large house having enough space to keep the plants, you can think upon donating them to a local nursery.
